Frauke Bohge 1983
Reacting to manifestations that I encounter, I take the essential elements of this experienced reality as a point of departure for my work. In my painting and graphic art a consistently strong connection to light can therefore be found, light having a decisive influence on my perception and sense of colour.
Common to the individual works is the recurring and lavish use of black and white, which leads only rarely to stark contrasts and often to shimmering or dusty, harmonic grey tones. The process of painting with colour on paper or canvas becomes an aesthetic act, in line with my aesthetic perception of realities.
